40:1 or 50:1? It’s 50:1

The most-asked Husqvarna mixing question has a one-word answer: modern Husqvarna two-stroke equipment (chainsaws, string trimmers, leaf blowers) specifies 50:1. Per gallon of fresh 89+ octane gas that’s 2.56 fluid ounces of oil; per litre it’s 20 ml. Husqvarna’s 2.6 oz “one-shot” bottle mixes exactly one gallon at 50:1.

Only very old machines are different: some vintage manuals called for richer mixes like 33:1 with plain mineral oils. If your saw predates the 90s, check the manual; otherwise mix 50:1. For any other gas amount, use the calculator:

Do you have to use Husqvarna oil?
